The following is a condensed check list of approved items that are allowed at The Gabel Center facility. As you read through it, please keep in mind that this is only a partial list. Prior to a scheduled admission, an Admission Specialist will provide you with a more detailed list of important items to bring, as well as a list of items that are prohibited.

A Photo ID – driver’s license, passport or work ID

Medical insurance cards

A list of all medications, dosages and any known allergies to medications

A maximum of 2 suitcases with comfortable clothing, beach towel, appropriate beach wear (two piece swimsuits for females are not allowed) and shoes for one week. On-site laundry facilities and supplies are available for patient use.

Polarized sun glasses

1 can of odorless sunscreen SPF50 or higher in spray form

Hat with no wording or emblem on it

Backpack

Alcohol free toiletries including shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, shaving articles, hairdryer, etc.

Spending money for personal care items, optional shopping or excursions. (A large sum of money is not required. Clients are required to keep track of their spending money)

A minimum of 3 days of any currently prescribed prescription medication
Upon admission, clients are asked to check-in their belongings to a secure location within the facility. An Admissions Associate will then examine those items to make sure the client has only brought the appropriate items with them for their treatment stay.
