After ten years of desperation, and anguish over our son and his addiction to drugs…we finally figured it out! We could not fix him, love him, scare him, push him, reward him, cajole him, counsel him, threaten him, shove him or any other verb you can think of him into getting better.  I made the call, which was the scariest call of my life. A million questions swirled in my mind. My heart broke to think this is what we had come to. Would it work?  We do not know what the future holds for our son and his journey. But now at least, we know we did everything humanly possible to right his path. Thank you seems not a strong enough statement to express our gratitude. Bless you..now that’s better !

I had been to several other rehabs before I found the Gabel Center. I had given up. I couldn't stand the thought of one more group therapy circle or big book study. I knew that I needed something different. What I found at GC was different. The staff took the time to get to know me, and they really seemed interested in seeing me do well. I loved the fact that we spent a lot of time doing therapy outside of the center, on the boat, the beach, etc. This was the first place I actually had fun in treatment. Imagine that.

When I heard that our son would be going to a rehab on the beach, images of lounge chairs by the pool and massages immediately came to mind. When we went to visit for family day, I was happy to see this wasn't the case. This isn't a luxury rehab on the beach, it is a wonderful rehab that happens to be on the beach. It amazed me how the staff intertwined the therapy with the environment. Scott loved the fact that he learned to sail. I loved the fact that he learned to not rely on drugs anymore. Thank you!

From the bottom of my heart, I will always be grateful for the help you provided my sister. We were about to give up, thinking we had tried everything...I am glad we made one more phone call. The staff at your program, from the man that answered the phone that first night, to the medical staff and therapists, were so kind to both my sister and the family. We as the family felt included, connected and empowered by the resources provided to us. We understood for the first time that it was my sister's responsibility to work her program--not ours! As a business owner, confidentiality was important to me. I needed to feel safe, and I did.
